San Bernardino is a lot more than what people may think. It is a city that is more than a terrorist attack. It is more than crime and danger. It is home to more than two million people. It is home to the wise as well as many young people. Home to future musicians, teachers, police officers, doctors, athletes, and more. But youth baseball holds a special place in San Bernardino.

In the city of San Bernardino, young baseball and softball players are recognized in a different way. These young athletes participate in the Little League World Series, Western Regionals. This takes place in August of every year. Since 2001, Al Houghton Stadium has hosted the Western Regionals, attracting over 10,000 spectators a year. This is one of the events that the people of San Bernardino look forward to every year.

There are many benefits that result from the atmosphere, the food, and the location. Also, the series even gets coverage on the ESPN channels so that those who are not able to go to the games or even those who do not live in San Bernardino can see the games and enjoy some baseball or softball at home.

The Western Regionals is a place in which people of all ages can go. There are never any incidents since the security is always making sure that everyone is having a good time. It is also very family friendly as well as diverse which may be why there is such a good turn out every year. This may also be because of the amazing food that is sold. There are many choices of food such as pizza, sub sandwiches, chili cheese fries, hot dogs, nachos, corn on the cob, funnel cakes, snow cones, candy and chips.

The field itself is also set in good location. There is a field directly behind the baseball stadium where many kids run around and play. Plus, there is an amazing sunset view. There are also fast-food joints down the street on Palm Avenue where many people go after a long day of games or just for the ride back home.

The Western Regionals is a place where everyone is welcome to have a good time and watch some baseball or softball. It is diverse, well-managed, and best of all, it’s free! The atmosphere is nothing but positive, the food is great and not overpriced, and the location is possibly perfect.

The people of San Bernardino positively represent the city when shown on ESPN as well. The city is a great host for this event since it shows that it is more than what many people think it is. It is home for many people.
