Dear future president,

So many police shootings have transpired in the past year. In 2016 alone, it has been estimated that over 700 people of all races have been fatally shot by police officers.

Everyone has an opinion, and everyone believes that they have the answer. However, the point still stands that our law enforcement exists to protect us. When people feel unsafe in their own communities and “innocent until proven guilty” is not always the case, law enforcement loses its purpose.

My request to you is to improve law enforcement training so police officers are not trained to aim for the “center mass.” The police should be trained to protect us, not to kill.

Sincerely,

Isabella Webb
