Gerardo Garcia is a 17-year-old senior at East Los Angeles Renaissance Academy, one of five schools at Torres High School.

Garcia is a bilingual; he knows how to talk Spanish and English. He would like to be a musician because he wants to play with famous bands and be recognized. He plays the clarinet and the accordion. He also wants to learn to play more instruments.

His favorite sport is soccer and will like to play for Club America. In 2013, he played soccer in Belvedere Park with a team named Chelsea. Garcia plays most of the positions except for goalie, even though he would like to, but his favorite position to play is as a wing because he likes to defend and attack.

In his free time Garcia likes to draw. He draws depending on how he is feeling at that moment.

He also likes to try new things and stay active. He will like to construct and design his own racing car or a jeep.

Garcia will be the first one in his family to graduate from high school and go to college. One of his goals is to accomplish his mother’s dream, which is to have her own house.

Another goal he wants to achieve is to be an architect and construct important buildings or houses. He would also like to travel.
