Just recently, El Segundo welcomed The Point- a beautifully appointed outdoor “mall” with a plethora of much needed, and exciting, merchants.  Located at the corner of Sepulveda and Rosecrans, The Point is a new crown jewel for the city of El Segundo, and many South Bay residents are very excited about this new destination, home to some of the most coveted retailers and popular eateries.  The outdoor shopping plaza situates all of the shops and eateries around a large green space, with plenty of outdoor seating, palm trees, and modern visual elements.

Finally, we have a SoulCycle!  Although they call themselves “SoulCycle Manhattan Beach,” which is misleading and frankly kinda’ an insult to El Segundo, it is fabulous having them at The Point, nonetheless.  I particularly enjoy Chris Pipkin’s classes where he plays great music and burns off so many calories that I am dripped in sweat.  It is nice to enjoy a coffee next door at Peet’s Coffee & Tea after.

Another favorite is True Foods Kitchen.  Often on Saturday morning I go to SoulCycle and then have brunch at True Foods, where I can eat all organic, healthy, and delicious food served in an open, airy space.  In particular, I love the crudité, an assortment of beautifully colored fresh, raw, veggies, with some tasty dips.

North Italia, an Italian eatery, has become a favorite in no time.  Every item thus far has proved to be delicious and fresh.  And their service is so friendly that I would rate it as exceptional.

Another highlight is Mendocino Farms, where sandwiches and salads are taken to a whole new level.  My favorite is The Sophisticated Chicken & Prosciutto Salad, which combines “prosciutto and roasted free range chicken, with seasonal market roasted vegetables, local mozzarella, crushed honey roasted almonds, marinated red peppers, red onions, grape tomatoes, Scarborough Farm’s greens, butter lettuce & romaine,” topped with basil pesto-balsamic vinaigrette.  It is absolutely to die for.

I cannot wait for the Grand Openings of Superba (restaurant) and Planet Blue (Women’s clothing).  I hail from the Westside where both of these establishments have quite a following.  I pray Superba has their fried chicken sandwich on the El Segundo menu! I will enjoy that salad after shopping for hip, bohemian pieces.

Shoppers can also enjoy a range of other fan favorites such as Bella Beach Kids, Sugarfina, Lucky Brand, Athleta, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Michael Stars, among others.  There is more than something for everyone.  So, come on down, and enjoy The Point in El Segundo.
