A nail-biting comeback

Roosevelt stepped foot on Bulldog territory on Monday, as the varsity volleyball teams competed. Roosevelt managed to take the first two sets, making for a nervous atmosphere for the home team. However, the Garfield Bulldogs quickly turned the tables and managed to shut down Roosevelt. The Garfield Bulldogs played their hearts out and kept the game alive, turning it into a true nail biter. After Garfield went on to win the next two sets, the playing field was leveled, and Michelle Castro eventually led her team to victory winning the final set 15-13.

“We pushed so hard and everything worked out in the end,” Castro said.

She then went on to congratulate her team’s performance and commended Roosevelt for their competitiveness. The Garfield girls’ volleyball team currently has 5 wins against 6 losses, and will take on Jordan on Wednesday.
