Girls Water Polo dominates Arcadia

The Charter Oak girls’ water polo team started this season with ambitions of building on their success from last year. It’s safe to say they started on the right track with a 24-3 win over Arcadia on December 2.

The Chargers got off to a quick 1-0 lead to start the game, but the Apaches would answer right back with a goal of their won. The rest of the first quarter was a similar story, as they would score and Arcadia would respond. Charter Oak would have the final say in the first quarter as they would be up 3-2.

The Apaches would tie it up one more time early in the second quarter. However, it would be all Chargers from that point on. Charter Oak scored a barrage of goals to head into halftime by a comfortable score of 10-3.

The Chargers kept their foot on the pedal for the third quarter. They wouldn’t allow another point from Arcadia and would end up winning the game by an outstanding score of 24-3.

“I’m excited about this season and the girls’ potential, they have a really good shot at winning CIF,” said head water polo coach Matthew Beaucar. “We definitely have the talent, we just have to work out the kinks and we’ll be ok.”

The Chargers play their next game on December 9 at Bonita High School. They hope to keep their hot start going.
