If it wasn’t for show choir, I would honestly hate school.

As a member of the Burbank Show Choir community for six years (and counting), I have had so many amazing experiences and opportunities through this beautiful organization. I have ventured to places I have never dreamed of seeing, performed on stage with broadway stars, fought quite a few battles with eyelash glue, formed trusting relationships with life long companions, and overall- I just got to be myself.

I have been performing all my life. At 1 year of age, my family could always count on me to be the one singing and dancing on top of the kitchen counter in my diapers without a care in the world. In elementary school, I participated in my school’s choir where we would sing simple things like our national anthem and Christmas carols. But it wasn’t until middle school I got a real taste of show choir.

I love show choir because it has made me a better and a well-rounded person. Show choir has taught me to be the best I can be. It taught me how to collaborate with a large group and do what is best for them. It taught me not only how to sing, but how to actually perform and exude my positive energy and lay it all out on the stage. I have had the privilege of working with so many great performers and clinicians from all over the country.

I just wanted to quickly share my story about my show choir experience and as the choir season is coming to an end, I just wanted to thank my choir group “In- Sync”. I love you guys like family and whatever happens at this last competition, I am so proud of us. For those of you reading who are interested in performing, if your school has a show choir program, don’t be afraid to join! You won’t regret it.

I love it!
