Reflection: Prom time is time you won’t regret

At the start of high school we all look forward to our senior year in order to be able to participate in all the exciting once in a lifetime activities. One of those anticipating activities is prom.

I was definitely excited about going to prom and counting off the days until it was time. Although it didn’t hit me that I was going to prom until the day of when all the rushing around was happening in the morning. My biggest fear was that my dress was going to rip or I was going to arrive late and not be able to go in.

As a girl, I think that we are more complicated and have a lot more to do before prom. For example, the toughest of them all is find the perfect dress in which you’ll feel comfortable and confident. Next you have to figure out where you’re going to get your hair and makeup done, book those appointments, and make sure you don’t end up running late. Then days before you have to get your eyebrows, nails, shoes, and clutch ready.

Prom night was one of the best nights of my life and I wish I could relive it again. I had the chance to go out with all my friends who I’ve basically spend most of my life with and have fun. It’s nice to see everyone all dressed up and looking nice because I am used to just seeing everyone with normal clothes at school. At prom I had a chance to enjoy the delicious dinner (chicken cordon bleu with purple potatoes and zucchini). I also enjoyed the photo booth with all my friends and dancing with them as well.

A tip for me to all of you is to arrive early so you get a chance to sit with the people you want. One of the best things about prom was that they had someone who drew a caricature of yourself with your friends. The best thing at prom though was that we had a special guest come and perform which was shocking to everyone. The performer went as RJ.

A good idea is to take pictures with your friends so later in the future you could look at them and maybe even show your future kids, so they can see how you looked at prom.

My recommendation to all of you is that you should definitely go to your prom because you won’t regret it.
