Valentine’s Day is recognized as a day of love towards those who are in relationships; however, it shouldn’t be viewed only as a day for relationships. Valentine’s is a day to show love to those who are close to you, whether it be your mother, father, sibling or a friend. Letting someone know that you care and show your appreciation goes a long way. Thinking of someone on Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be your partner, it’s just someone you care about.

Valentine’s Day is special if it is spent with the ones who are close to you. You don’t have to be in a relationship to enjoy this special day. I would like people to stop going around the stereotype that you need to be in a relationship to enjoy Valentine’s Day. The companionship of those who have meaning to you will always fill a void you have about not being in a certain relationship around this certain month. Although, I don’t mean to make Valentine’s Day an unimportant day for couples, but if you’re in a happy relationship then this day shouldn’t be a big deal as long as you have your special someone.
