On May 12, the Mira Costa boys volleyball team took on Dos Pueblos High in the first round of the CIF Division One playoffs. After four sets, the Mira Costa Mustangs, ranked ninth in the nation, claimed the victory (25-15, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18).

The sheer size of the Mustangs simply overpowered the Dos Pueblos Chargers, as senior Blake Markland and junior Jackson Wedbush were forces to be reckoned with at the net. Despite winning set number two, the Chargers were unable to mount any sort of comeback.

With a strong first round win, Costa moves on to face Servite in the second round on May 14 at Mira Costa High.
