Summer is a time for students to take a much-needed break from the stress of essays and finals. Even if you’re busy with summer school or SAT prep, be sure to unwind every once in a while. A great way to let loose is by spending time with family or friends at a local event! Here are some fun festivals and fairs to look forward to this summer in SoCal!

  1. Vans Warped Tour

For fans of punk, rock, or alternative bands, Vans Warped Tour is a must. The line-up this year includes dozens of bands from Asking Alexandria to Black Veil Brides. As the largest travelling music festival in the world, Warped Tour is stopping in Southern California not once, but three times, in Pomona, Ventura and San Diego. Visit here for more info.

  1. Anime Expo

Hailed as the largest North American anime convention, Anime Expo hits Los Angeles every year on the Fourth of July weekend.  The convention showcases everything from anime and cosplay to Japanese gaming and music.   1. OC Fair

Featuring an endless variety of music, shopping, and most importantly, food, there’s no wonder that the Orange County fair has been around for 125 years. Join 1.3 million other guests in this 23-day celebration of fried foods and carnival games! Visit here for more info.

  1. 626 Night Market

Even if you’re not from the San Gabriel Valley, you can’t miss out on the 626 Night Market. Inspired by an Asian night market, it’s packed with food, music, games, and shopping from local businesses and artists. There will be dates in July, August, and September, so don’t worry if you can’t make it to one! Visit here for more info.

  1. Kcon

This August, the hottest Korean idols will be brought to Los Angeles in Kcon, the annual K-pop convention and concert that attracted over 40,000 people last year. During the day, the convention is bustling with panels, food trucks, and games, but when the sky turns dark, attendees gather in a stadium to watch a concert by their favorite K-pop groups.
