The Charger’s Bolt facility headquarters has been in the works since 2021, and construction first started on the nearly $250 million state of the art facility in 2022. The facility is conveniently located within 4 miles of both LAX and Manhattan Beach Pier.
The Bolt has been long awaited for both Chargers fans and players. The 150,000 square foot facility contains 3 practice fields, a 7,000 square foot weight room, and both indoor and outdoor athletic training rooms with training tables. For player recovery, there is a sauna and steam room, cold and hot tubs as well as a hydrotherapy pool equipped with a treadmill. After an exhausting workout, players can relax in the many lounges for players and coaches with over 250 televisions and other amenities including a golf simulator and ping pong table.
The Bolt’s gourmet cafeteria is managed by Wolfgang Puck Catering and staffed with onsite nutritionists to design specific menu plans to meet dietary goals– be it bulking up or trimming down with input from players and chefs. The cafeteria is well furnished with a Charger helmet pizza oven, carving stations, grill stations, and smoothie stations with both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate the entire team and coaching staff.
The Jim Harbaugh signing rejuvenated the Chargers fan base who had been long awaiting an experienced coach to lead the team to their first ever Super Bowl victory. Harbaugh has found success at every coaching spot during his illustrious coaching career. Transforming underachieving college teams into winning programs at both UC San Diego and Stanford. Harbaugh applied his winning formula to the NFL stage with the San Francisco 49ers and led them to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2012 season. Most recently, Harbaugh returned to his alma mater at Michigan and once again led an underachieving team to a National Championship victory in 2023.
With a new highly touted coach in Harbaugh, and a brand new $250 million facility in El Segundo, excitement and optimism from the Charger fanbase is at an all-time high.
