Tattoos: symbolic marks of something in your life

In today’s culture, tattoos are often seen in our society on celebrities to everyday people in a wide range of ages. There are some people who have mixed feelings about tattoos, especially when it is a teenager who is getting one. I see tattoos as a self-expression form of art in which one knows the story behind it, or the purpose of why it’s there. On the other hand, there are some people who believe teenagers getting tattoos is a rebellious immature act that will one day be regretted. As in almost everything, certain people will criticize your choice regardless.

I am 15 years old, and so far I have gotten two tattoos. I decided to get my mother’s name on my left wrist, and my aunt’s who I consider to be my second mother on my right wrist.

As said in the quote there’s a story behind that layer of ink. A tattoo is a symbolic mark of something in your life, that you wish to have with you forever. Both of my tattoos have a special story behind them, and they both symbolize my everyday motivation. Many question why on my wrist? Your wrist is what causes movement in your hands, and your hands create what your mind envisions. I see it as a form of strength, whenever my hands get tired I could just look at my wrists and see my motivation. I got my mother’s name on my left wrist because there is a connection to my heart. On my right wrist I got my aunt’s name because my right hand dominant.
