LAUSD/ USC Media Arts and Engineering Magnet’s all-star science teacher Mr. Rodriguez does it all: teaching courses in biology, physiology, genetics, forensic science, and marine biology. He opens up about his struggles to earn a college education; growing up with limited resources inspired him to further his education beyond high school and pursue a degree in science.

Today, he challenges his students both inside his labs and with insights about life beyond school. Students admire Mr. Rodriguez’s teaching style and his commitment to push them to succeed in his rigorous classes and be ready for college. He is an inspiration for all students pursuing a career in science.
