Valentine’s Day has never been my cup of tea. Being single on Valentine’s Day is much better because you don’t have to worry about finding the “right” gift for that special someone. In some ways, you can spend Valentine’s Day by hanging out with your friends (single more likely) or watching Netflix or reading a book.
Now if you’re not single but your partner is out-of-town for some weird reason, you can do these things too. Here is an even better reason to do these things and stay inside. Anywhere you go is going to be either full or expensive, which means good luck finding parking.
One of the many books you could read is “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” by J.K. Rowling (if you’re not up for a love story). If you are, you could read the “Truth About Forever” by Sarah Dessen. On Netflix, you can watch Kevin Hart to make you laugh, “The Lion King” to make you feel like a kid, “The Notebook” to make you feel bad about not having a love story (okay so maybe don’t watch that one), but watch movies that make you feel good. I know this year I am going to Starbucks with my friends, head home, watch “Peter Pan,” read more of “Saint Anything,” and then make dinner for my mom and dad.
So I guess I will be my own Valentine.
