On Wednesday, March 25, St. Lucy’s celebrated their annual DJ Pizza Lunch, a much-anticipated event involving pizza and lots of crazy dancing.
DJ Pizza Lunch takes place during Alumnae Memorial Week, a week in which the St. Lucy’s community participates in various activities that raise money for scholarships for the junior class. Students look forward to this day because it is an opportunity to have some fun before the end of the school year and all the pressures that come along with it, such as prom, finals, and graduation.
Students attended shortened classes in the morning and ate pizza at lunch, followed by two hours of music and dancing. With the DJ, Mr. E, playing recent hit songs such as “Fireball” by Pitbull and “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake and Lil John, and popular oldies like “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson and “Larger Than Life” by the Backstreet Boys, there was never a dull moment.
One fun aspect of DJ Pizza Lunch is that the students get to design their own clothes and be as silly as possible. With tie-dye shirts and lots of glittery outfits, DJ Pizza Lunch makes for a colorful and creative afternoon, complete with pizza and music.
