Dear future president,
College has always been emphasized as a step in my life that I needed in order to become successful and earn a stable life.
However as the time for applying to colleges approaches for my peers and I, it is no longer even seen as an option because of how expensive it has gotten.
When I started looking into how much it would cost to attend most universities, I realized the tuition alone is not a reasonable amount.
For example, if you are living on campus at a UC, it will cost around $34,200 annually. Private college prices range from $40,000 – $50,000, which is very disappointing.
Working hard for an entire four years of high school in order to be able to get into college is an immensely important accomplishment, but kids today often have their dreams crushed when they realize the cost.
