Disney on Broadway’s “Beauty and the Beast” musical is full of Disney magic that transports you to the enchanted world of France. With creative sets and elaborate costumes, the production brings a classic Disney story to the stage.
Disney’s classic tale of “Beauty and the Beast” follows the story of a young woman named Belle, who finds herself falling in love with a prince cursed to live as a beast. As a musical production, the show featured the classic songs from the original film while also adding new songs to the story.
The national tour of Disney on Broadway’s “Beauty and the Beast” had their opening night on Aug. 14 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.
The opening night cast featured Kyra Belle Johnson (Belle), Fergie L. Philippe (Beast), Stephen Mark Lukas (Gaston), Danny Gardner (Lumiere), Christina Rose Hall (Mrs. Potts), Javier Ignacio (Cogsworth) and Harry Francis (Lefou).

This production felt like I was stepping back into my childhood. The nostalgic songs brought me back to watching “Beauty and the Beast” for the first time at Disneyland, and seeing the story come to life onstage made me feel as if I was watching it for the first time again.
As a Disney production, this show really captured the magic, and the storyline was true to the movie. The entire cast was also incredibly talented, and the passion they brought to the stage made the story feel even more special.
“Beauty and the Beast” is playing at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre through Sept. 6 and will play at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, Calif., from Sept. 22 through Oct.11
