There is only on thing I have to say about C’est Si Bon in Newport Beach: “yum!”

From the moment you walk in, C’est Si Bon greets you with a welcoming aroma of gooey pastries and sweet cheeses, which only adds to the fresh, warm, baguettes you are a witness to the moment you arrive. Although it is hard to see the exterior because of the construction due to expansion, it still gives off the quaint Parisian feel. The chalkboard menu overlooks the counter/register, and gives you options of sandwich components.

The wide array of berry croissants, cinnamon rolls, brioche, and scones almost pales in comparison to the soups, salads, and sandwiches served here. Whether it’s a brie and salami on a wheat baguette, or the chicken tarragon salad, you cannot go wrong any of the many breakfast, lunch and dinner combinations C’est Si Bon offers.

Though it was a hard decision, my sandwich was composed of turkey, lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and yellow mustard on a 6-inch baguette. The mashed avocado was smoothed onto the crunchy, golden baguette and layered with Romaine lettuce, deli turkey, and mustard. The diagonal-cut cucumber allowed for the perfect hint in every bite. After building my sandwich, I took a short walk to a nearby park and ate my sandwich while overlooking Balboa Island—an end to an already blissful day.

Although I took my sandwich to go, I was thrilled to see that by the time I had received my order and was ready to leave, the lunch time crowd had arrived and had formed a very long line.
