Amidst the lively Loud household, Lincoln Loud (played by Wolfgang Schaeffer) navigates the everyday life of being the only brother to 10 sisters, each with her unique personality and quirks. This live-action adaptation of “The Loud House” navigates the chaos and comedy of a large family, ensuring there’s never a dull moment in the Loud household.
As Lincoln and his best friend, Clyde McBridge (played by Jahzir Brown), embark on various adventures, they embrace ideas of friendship, family, and authenticity, culminating in a beloved show for viewers of all ages.
For Brown and Schaeffer, stepping back onto the set of “The Really Loud House” to film season 2 was nothing short of pure bliss. The production, initially scheduled to begin in June 2023, was pushed back to December 2023 following the Writers Guild of America strike.
This delay, however, did little to dampen the spirits of the young stars, who were eager to dive back into the chaos and camaraderie of Royal Woods.
In an exclusive interview with the L.A. Times High School Insider, Brown shared his enthusiasm.
“It felt great, honestly. It was cool to see everybody again. I haven’t seen Wolfgang in a long time,” Brown said.
Schaeffer and Brown faced fresh challenges and opportunities transitioning into the new season. The new season starts with a Western-inspired musical number, significantly departing from the show’s traditional format. Despite the initial shock for the actors, with Schaeffer admitting to being caught off guard by the directors, “adding like eight or nine more songs,” both actors embraced the opportunity to sing and dance, bringing a whole new dimension to their beloved characters.
When asked about their experience filming the hour-long musical, Schaeffer recalls, “It was such an amazing experience,” later adding, “It’s always [been] one of my dreams. Like I’m not a singer, I’m not a dancer, but it was so fun to have this experience. And I hope I get to do it again one day.” As for their favorite musical numbers, Brown is particularly fond of his musical number, “Clincoln McCloud,” highlighting “the choreography, the singing, and the dancing.”
The actors’ imaginative spirit wasn’t just confined to musical numbers. When asked about their dream locations for Lincoln and Clyde’s adventures, where both actors embodied the free-spirited nature of their characters, envisioning trips to London or tropical getaways to Hawaii.
But more importantly, Brown and Schaeffer see Season 2 as an opportunity for growth and evolution. “We’ve evolved and grown as we kept getting closer in friendship,” Brown notes, highlighting the dynamic development of Lincoln and Clyde’s relationship.
“Clyde can be a nerdy character, but he’s also very cool,” Schaeffer said.
The culmination of their efforts was a moment of reflection and immense pride. After months of delays, watching their work on the big screen offered a surreal experience for the young actors, serving as a testament to their hard work and dedication.
“Seeing it on this huge screen … really showed us that all the hard work we’re doing is finally paid off,” Brown said.
The excitement is palpable with the new season releasing in a few days. Looking ahead, Brown and Schaeffer are eager to explore more adventures, laughter and the deepening bond between Lincoln and Clyde.
“More adventures, more plans, and more laughs coming your way,” Schaeffer said.
