When you think of Percy Jackson, the first thought that comes to mind is probably life-sucking, terrorizing demon monsters. The second? Whether it be heroism, friendship, perseverance, adventures, or excitement, you’ll probably see it (along with our monster friends, of course) in the upcoming “Percy Jackson” Season 2 series.

With a thrilling plot and an engaging cast, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2 depicts Rick Riordian’s classic “The Sea of Monsters” with breath-taking landscapes, realistic chariot races, and of course, horrifying battle scenes.

It immerses viewers into the world of Percy (played by Walker Scobell), offers you a sword, and lets you fight along with him as he navigates the perilous sea and its travesties with his trusty companions, Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jefferies).

The show had a premiere at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in L.A. on Dec. 3, 2025 with cast and crew in attendance.

On the red carpet, many of the actors said they relate to the characters they played.

“A lot of [Percy’s] growth comes in Season 2… you kind of get to see it happening… I kind of relate to all of it… it always feels that I’m going through similar things at the same time Percy is,” Scobell said.

Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse La Rue, reiterated, “Clarisse’s story and my story are very similar. I think we both have an intense inner self-critic.”

For Aleks Paunovic, his character (Polyphemus) also relates to all the audience.

“With Polyphemus, everybody is looking for love, in some way or another and the dude just wants to be loved and the dude doesn’t want to be hurt. I think we can all connect through stuff like that,” Paunovic said.

Other actors emphasized bringing the character alive during filming. For example, Tyson, (Percy’s brother) is a cuddle bear, and that’s exactly what Daniel Diemer enjoys the most about playing him.

“I think just his innocence [is what I tried to bring to life]… he’s so endearing, so cute, and [he has] a lot of curiosity of just being a giant and trying to see the world and trying to connect with everybody else,” Diemer said.

Charlie Bushnell’s motivation while acting Luke? Luke’s passion, especially for a noble cause of defeating the evil gods who he’s seen no good from.

“Luke as a character… he’s passionate. Especially this season, he’s very driven and passionate about bringing back Kronos and the Golden Age..
[I liked playing] his inner struggle that is still definitely there and deep within,” Bushnell said.

You can’t forget about the producers! If you ask James Bobin, an executive producer and director, what he’s most proud of this season, he’ll have one answer: the chariot race!

“The horses [were my favorite part]! I did the chariot race, and so we had to build a quarter-mile chariot race and plan the race. I actually worked out how to get five chariots around the course in a realistic, fun way and tell a story at the same time,” Bobin said.

Wonder: if Bobin could entice one feeling into the audience, it would be the same wonder his kids felt when they read Percy Jackson all those years ago.

He said, “I read these books to my kids many years ago… and so really it’s the sense of wonder that my kids felt at that time that I’m trying to convey here.”

As for Craig Silverstein, he focused mainly on making the show as accurate as the book.

“Our main goal was to try and get as much of the book on screen as possible in episodes,” Silverstein said.

The new season of “Percy Jackson” is now streaming on Disney+.
