On Aug. 15, the final season of “Outer Banks” held its final premiere at the Ford Theatre in Los Angeles. The event, Pogues for Life: A Fan Farewell Event, was a celebration to send off the cast for the last time alongside fans.
The principal cast, including Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara Carrera), Jonathan Daviss (Pope Heyward), Carlacia Grant (Cleo) and Drew Starkey (Rafe Cameron), celebrated the premiere alongside additional cast and crew members, as well as hundreds of dedicated “Outer Banks” fans.
“Outer Banks” is a hit teen Netflix show that premiered on April 15, 2020. The series follows a group of teens called the Pogues as they embark on adventures for lost gold while dealing with dangerous people in North Carolina.
1iota, a fan-ticketing platform, offered a limited number of tickets for fans to attend the event. Fans had the chance to gather alongside the red carpet, watch the Pogue Awards and panel discussion and enjoy a special screening of episode one with the entire cast.
To kick off the evening, the premiere began with the cast, crew and celebrity guests walking the red carpet for photos and interviews. A select number of fans had the chance to line up along the route, where they were able to interact with the actors.
Around 6 p.m., everyone gathered in the Ford Theatre for the inaugural, fan-voted Pogue Awards, to celebrate the final season of Netflix’s hit series “Outer Banks.” Each winner received a Golden Chicken trophy and answered questions by fans.

The first Golden Chicken trophy was presented by the cast of “My Life With the Walter Boys,” Nikki Rodriguez, Ashby Gentry and Noah LaLonde. Cline accepted the award in the category of “Pogue Post That Made Waves” for the “No You Don’t Topper” viral sound and dance trend.
Next, was the award presented by Sadie Stanley and Daisy Jelley for the “Most Dramatic Plot Twist Involving an Obscure Historical Clue.” Daviss accepted the award for the scene when he uncovered the Cross of Santo Domingo.
Up next, Miku Martineau presented the award for “Coolest Kook Doing Kook Things (While Wearing Sunglasses).” As the most notorious Kook on the island, Starkey obviously took home the Golden Chicken Award for this one.
Afterward, Grant received the award for “Best Scene We Can’t Explain Yet” for a Season 5 scene of her blowing up the Twinkie. This award was presented by Geena Meszaros and Shirley Chen.
Next, the cast of “The Sticks” presented the award to Bailey for “I’m a Pogue, I Do Pogue Things.” The clip of her win featured Kiara spray-painting activism on the Camerons house.
Lastly, Stokes brought it home by winning the category of the “Line That Lives In Your Head Rent Free.” His scene featured the iconic line of “Our mission this summer is to have a good time all the time.”

Following the awards ceremony, the cast participated in a Q&A panel with writer Josh Horowitz, where they discussed their filming experiences and the things they will miss most about working on “Outer Banks.”
The night wrapped up with a special screening of Episode 1, bringing a bittersweet end to the world of Pogues and Kooks.
Season 5 of Outer Banks premieres on Aug. 20, only on Netflix.
