Housing/shelter

Call 211 or visit 211la.org for assistance with seeking housing. Free temporary shelter is being offered for people displaced from their homes by fire, in partnership with 211 LA and Airbnb. Start by contacting them or filling out this form

  • Westwood Recreation Center: 1350 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Westwood (accepts small animals)
  • Ritchie Valens Recreation Center – 10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Pacoima
  • Pan Pacific Recreational Center – 7600 Beverly, L.A.
  • El Camino Real Charter High School: 5440 Valley Circle Blvd., Woodland Hills
  • Pierce College: 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills (accepts large animals)
  • CURRENTLY FULL Pasadena Convention Center: 300 E Green St., Pasadena

Planet Fitness opened L.A. County locations to residents, first responders affected by wildfires

L.A. County Planet Fitness locations are open to residents and first responders affected by wildfires. The offer is valid until Jan. 15.

Preparing for evacuation

In case of evacuation, prepare a go-bag. Below is a list of basic supplies to pack, published by KCRW.

Go-bag essentials:

  • 3-day supply of non-perishable food and 3 gallons of water per person
  • Map with at least 2 evacuation routes
  • Prescriptions and/or medications
  • A change of clothing 
  • Eyeglasses/contact lenses + extras 
  • Car keys + other essential keys, plus extras or duplicates 
  • Credit cards, cash, or traveler’s checks
  • First aid kit 
  • Sanitation supplies
  • Flashlight 
  • Battery-powered radio with extra batteries
  • Important documents and/or copies (birth certificates, passports, etc.)
  • Pet food, water, and medications 
  • Phone charger 
  • Portable charger
